The government has approved the state program "Intellectual Belarus" for 2026-2030. Prime Minister Alexander Turchin signed the corresponding resolution, the government press service told BelTA.
The goal is to improve the quality and competitiveness of domestic education, meeting current labor market demands and the needs of the national economy as the foundation for the successful development of individuals, society, and the state.
To achieve this goal, three subprograms will be implemented: "Kindergarten and School - Territory of Success" (aimed at improving the quality of preschool and general secondary education), "Children and Youth - the Future of Belarus" (aimed at expanding access to supplementary education for children and youth, improving the system for protecting children's rights and interests, and integrating youth into modern society), and "Professional Personnel" (aimed at improving the quality and competitiveness of vocational education and building an effective model for supplementary education for adults).
The total funding for the state program is Br6.4 billion, including Br2.3 billion from the national budget, Br3.9 billion from local budgets, and Br43.5 million from the program's own funds.
By 2030, the share of ninth-grade graduates this academic year who continue their education at vocational and secondary specialized education levels is expected to increase to 50%. The share of children aged 6 to 18 years mastering the content of the supplementary education program for children and youth with a technical focus is also expected to double, reaching 25% by 2030.
Furthermore, one of the resulting effects by 2030 should be the creation of training workshops (sites, workshops) at enterprises and organizations in the real sector of the economy and the social sphere for practical training of college students.
It is also expected that the proportion of faculty members with an academic degree or title in the total number of faculty members will increase to 45%.
