The department of philosophy and methodology of university education was established on January 19, 2006. For many years in scientific and educational activity of the department methodological approaches and results of researches of scientific school of the system analysis under the direction of the corresponding member of NAS of Belarus, the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, the professor, the honored worker of science of Republic of Belarus DEMCHUK Mikhail Ivanovich were used.
From September 10, 2008 to April 20, 2019, the department was headed by Marina Georgievna VOLNISTAYA.
From June 01, 2019 to August 09, 2020, the head of the department was DOBRORODNY Danila Grigorievich.
Since September 01, 2020, the department is headed by SEMENOVA Vladislava Nikolaevna.

The department carries out educational process on two specialties of retraining 1-08 01 74 "Modern technologies of University education", qualification "the Teacher of the higher school" and 1-09 01 73 "Information – ideological and educational work in educational institutions", qualification "the Specialist in information – ideological and educational work in educational institution".
The department implements programs of professional development and training of teachers of higher education, specialists and managers of institutions of higher and secondary special education.
Training programs are aimed at expanding the professional competence of the University teacher on the methodology of science, methodology of social and humanitarian knowledge, methodology of system analysis, the practice of innovative methods and technologies of teaching, modern methods of teaching social and humanitarian disciplines, network forms of education in high school.
The department of philosophy and methodology of University education of the Republic of Belarus trains specialists of higher scientific qualification in two specialties of postgraduate study:

23.00.01 – Theory and philosophy of politics, history and methodology of political science
