
On May 28, 2025, a seminar on "Current Issues of Personal Data Protection in Education" was held at the Republican Institute of Higher Education. Representatives of the National Center for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus participated.
The seminar discussed issues related to organizing internal controls over the processing of personal data and conducting compliance audits for personal data legislation.
Welcoming remarks were given by Sergei Nikolaevich Pishchev, Head of the Main Department of Professional Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus; Inna Vladimirovna Leus, Deputy Director of the National Center for Personal Data Protection; and Vyacheslav Ivanovich Shuplyak, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Republican Institute of Higher Education.
Presentations at the seminar were given by Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Shved, Deputy Head of the Personal Data Protection Methodology Department at the National Center for Personal Data Protection; Irina Anatolyevna Pyrko, Head of the Personal Data Protection Methodology Department at the National Center for Personal Data Protection; Alesya Yuryevna Drozdova-Luppova, Legal Advisor at the Euphrosyne of Polotsk State University; Elena Viktorovna Sokova, Legal Advisor at the Personal Data Protection Sector at the Belarusian State University; and Aleksandr Mikhailovich Sobol, Head of the Cybersecurity Department at the Information Technology Center at the Belarusian State University.
Over 250 people attended the seminar, which was held in a mixed format and generated considerable public interest.
